All the mental pressure associated with a person in his day today affairs has led to increased stress related disorders especially for people living in cities. For some people a certain amount of stress is helpful as it helps them get by their daily lives. It is a reminder to who they are and that makes them do their best, a part of their life as air and water, and hence they are not moved by it. These people use stress in such a way that it helps boost their performance. These are exactly the people one must look for. And the good part is that the rest can, observe, learn and copy from them. When you do that, you’ll observe some key factor prevalent to all of them. They do not panic, they are generally positive, they never think or react negatively, they never panic in a public situation and they never let their anger take control over them.  If such people are not to be found, then the below stress relieving techniques are helpful anytime.

The laughter therapy

The most popular and simplest of stress relieving techniques is laughter. Even a smile can work wonders.  It transcends all ages, castes, religions and other differences. Research has shown that laughter is the best medicine. It lowers your blood pressure, reduces stress hormones, and boosts your immune system.  It loosens the body and makes you feel carefree. Movement is the most important thing that laughter does for you: shake, move and giggle which increase the intake and use of oxygen in the body. When you get up in the morning, make it a habit to smile a big grin that lights up your face. Think of nothing, just smile and it will do wonders for the rest of the day.

Exercise

This is one of the best ways to help you relax. Playing games in the morning does wonders for your motivation and keeps you charged up all day.

Healthy Diet

Intake of Vitamin C (fresh fruits and vegetables and whole grain cereals) keeps you healthy and fit while also reducing your stress. Avoid chocolate cakes, ice cream or caffeine. Foods that give you omega-3 are also helpful in inducing calmness.

Deep Breathing

Most popular method is the alternative nostril breathing. To do this, close the right nostril with your thumb and breathe in through the left one. Now close the left nostril with the middle finger, and breathe out through the right nostril. Repeat it for 5-10 times. It can be done anywhere and everywhere. It is a very quick way to relieve stress.

Positive attitude

Keep a positive attitude, enjoy life, and visit the places you’ve always wanted to. Divert your focus from the daily routine once a while in the form of a family vacation or by devoting more time to socializing.

Meditation

It is considered by many experts to be the best stress reliever method. Two of the simplest methods are the 8-minute meditation and the theta meditation technique (which uses the binaural beats to stimulate the mind).
